Project Summary
The aim of “HOPE – Protecting Mental Health” is to reduce stigma and misunderstanding of mental health.
The objectives of our project are
O1: Reduce stigma and misunderstanding on mental health through improved awareness rising and knowledge about the mental health of 35 young people during 9 days of activities.
O2: Prevent stigma and negative stereotypes when talking about mental health by increasing the knowledge and create a supportive network for the 35 participants during the 9 days of mobility.
O3: Promoting non-formal education as a structured resource in raising awareness and combating discrimination and stigmatization of people with anxiety or depression and in stimulating their social inclusion.
This project is linked with the objectives of the Erasmus+ program by -involved in the learning mobility of young people and also youngsters with fewer opportunities, & by improving their level of key competencies and skills; -promoting intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and solidarity; -Increase the social inclusion of all young people, building on European values. -Promote intercultural dialogue and promote knowledge about and acceptance of diversity and tolerance in society. Recognizing the non-formal and informal learning and by tools recognition and dissemination of good practices (Youthpass).
Target Groups
The young participants will be 18-29 years old with a focus on the category of 18-25 years old and the youth leaders will be 18+ (selected on the basis of their experience in working with groups of young people). All 7 partner organizations will try to select equal numbers of females and males so that will have fair participation and a good dynamic of the group. In order to ensure gender balance, we will take care to promote both to female and male persons the opportunity to participate so that we have applicants from both categories. Also, we will take into account that nowadays gender is more extended to other categories, and we will not restrict in any case the participation of young people to this project due to their gender declaration. HOPE project will gather a group of 35 participants from the following countries Bulgaria, Romania, Italy, Latvia, Czech Republic and Portugal.
Project Activities Type of activity: Youth Exchange Venue: Sofia, Bulgaria Dates: 26th May – 5th June 2023 , Varna, Bulgaria Countries involved: Bulgaria, Romania, Portugal, Latvia, Italy and Czech Republic. The program starts with the learning needs of participants and gives them the opportunity to implement their own ideas and activities. The program offers context for inclusion for youngsters with fewer opportunities. |
Youth Exchange has been successfully completed on 27th of May - 4th of June 2023 in Varna, Bulgaria.
