In July 2025, the project “BAH – BE ACTIVE WITH HIKING” successfully implemented its Learning, Teaching and Training (LTT) Activity, bringing together 18 youth workers from partner countries.
The main objective of this activity was to train participants to organise inclusive and educational hiking activities, while at the same time testing key project outputs in real-life conditions.
This LTT marked the first practical testing of:
- the Training Format for LTT activities,
- the Card Games for Hiking, and
- the educational content included in the Project Toolkit.
Days 1 & 2 – Foundations and Practical Testing
Day 1: Introduction and Project Framework
The activity started with a warm welcome from our hosts RSS, followed by:
- Presentation of the hosting organisation and the LTT programme
- Overview of project goals, timeline, deliverables and dissemination strategy
- Partner presentations of the main project outputs:
- 📘 Toolkit for Active Lifestyle
- 🃏 Card Games for Hiking
- 📋 Training Format for Hiking Activities
This day set a strong common understanding and prepared participants for the practical sessions ahead.
Day 2: Hiking Experience in Platak
The second day focused on hands-on learning:
- 🥾 Guided hiking tour in the Platak area
- 🌲 Enjoying nature, fresh air and teamwork
- 🔍 Practical implementation of the project’s educational tools during the hike
Participants tested the card games and training methods directly on the trail, combining physical activity with reflection, cooperation and learning.
Days 3 & 4 – Nature, Skills and Discovery
Day 3: Hiking Tour – Učka Mountain
An inspiring day in Učka Nature Park, where participants explored scenic mountain trails surrounded by breathtaking views.
During the hike, the Card Games for Hiking were actively used, adding an interactive and educational dimension. These games encouraged:
- teamwork and communication,
- reflection and problem-solving,
- deeper connection with nature.
Day 4: First Aid Workshop & Rijeka Discovery
The morning was dedicated to an Interactive First Aid Workshop, where participants learned how to react in emergency situations through practical exercises and simulations.
In the afternoon, the group explored the city of Rijeka through the City Treasure Game – a playful city quest combining culture, exploration and teamwork.
Day 5 – Evaluation and Reflection
The final day focused on evaluation and recap of the entire LTT week.
Participants reflected on:
- their learning experiences,
- challenges encountered during hiking activities,
- the importance of teamwork and connection with nature.
Ideas for future cooperation, sustainability of the project and promotion of an active lifestyle through hiking were also discussed
The Learning, Teaching and Training Activity proved to be a highly successful and inspiring experience, fully aligned with the values of Erasmus+ Sport.
Through movement, nature and shared learning, the BAH – BE ACTIVE WITH HIKING project continues to connect people and promote a healthy, active and sustainable lifestyle.
